This 10 gate, 270,000 square foot terminal designed by WNB+A for Delta Airlines was the first new terminal built at LaGuardia Airport in over 10 years. WNB+A modernized and expanded the existing Central Terminal Building at LaGuardia. The original design comprised of "compartmentalized" airline spaces, thus forcing a passenger to go outside of the terminal in order to pass from one airline space to another. WNB+A reconfigured the entire CTB to develop a continuous ticket lobby, and arrivals lobby throughout, thus allowing passengers to pass freely from one airline space to another. WNB+A' s role was A/E team prime, and sole architects.

The purpose of this $200 Million project was to provide an enlarged, upgraded terminal to serve both British Airways and United Airlines in a joint operation. To meet this goal, a new 100,000 s.f. addition was added to the existing terminal. A prime consideration in this complex project was to maintain operations throughout construction. In order to provide uninterrupted service, the construction was completed in 17 phases. WNB+A functioned as A/E team prime, sole architects, and program managers for this important project. It finished on time and under budget.
