This new 350,000 square foot international terminal at BWI is designed to be a state-of-the-art international facility, and an impressive gateway. WNB+A's architectural design of the new terminal is based on the signature space frame of the existing airport, but developed it into its own distinctive design form. Tiers of skylights culminate in a glass pyramid set over the functional center of the building. The changing colors of the sunlight entering the space transforms this terminal from glass and steel into a spiritually uplifting space. Joint ventured with STV Inc., WNB+A functioned as the sole architects.
